The waters surrounding Hornby provide exceptional boating, scuba diving and spectacular marine life. The pure white sand of Tribune Bay is known as one of the most beautiful beaches in British Columbia and offers the warmest swimming waters on the BC coast. "Beaching" is a popular activity on Hornby - visitors come to view the spectacular petroglyphs and fossils harboured by the island since a bygone era. Known as a creative haven for artists, Hornby is an imaginative medley of individuality. Many galleries and studios boast local pottery, paintings, jewelry and carvings. In August, the island plays host to Hornby Festival - a popular annual arts festival. The musically oriented should be sure to participate in the Hornby Island Blues Society Blue's Festival in May.
